JHU Alumni & Osher Members

JHU Alumni qualify for an 80% reduction in Odyssey Tuition. Osher at JHU members (Baltimore, Columbia, and Montgomery County) qualify for a 25% discount on Odyssey courses. Please select the correct ticket pricing during registration. After your registration is processed, your eligibility for this discount will be confirmed. JHU Tuition Remission for faculty, staff, retirees, and their partners

Full-time eligible JHU faculty, staff, and retirees, as well as their spouses or same-sex domestic partners, are eligible for tuition remission through university benefits. Please select the correct ticket pricing during registration. After your registration is processed, your eligibility for this discount will be confirmed. If we cannot confirm your eligibility, you will be requested to pay the full registration price for the course. Eligible full-time JHU faculty, staff, and retirees receive 80% remission for non-credit, personal enrichment Odyssey courses. Their spouse or domestic partner receives 50% remission for non-credit, personal enrichment Odyssey courses.

Under the terms of the University’s remission program, Hopkins employees must withdraw in writing at least five working days before the first class to receive a 100% refund. No partial refunds are given to JHU employees and affiliates.

The tuition remission form is no longer required for Odyssey course registration. Simply select the correct tuition level during online registration. For more information about the University’s tuition remission benefits, please click here.

Policies

Withdrawals and Refunds

If a course is canceled or closed, the student is notified immediately, and a full refund is processed automatically unless another course is requested. Students who wish to withdraw from a course must do so in writing must notify the Odyssey office at odyssey@jhu.edu or call 1-800-JHU-JHU1 (548-5481) at least five (5) working days prior to the beginning of class. The refund schedule is listed below.

Ticketed & Special Events (e.g., sporting, theater, museum tickets) 

All ticket sales are final – ticketed events are non-refundable.

*Tickets should not be sold or transferred without JHAA approval

Cancellations by JHAA or Host (e.g., venue, stadium, speaker)

The JHAA reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If the JHAA or host cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. If an event is postponed, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.

Refund Schedule

The processing time for refunds is approximately four to six weeks from the course withdrawal or cancellation date. Under the revised terms of the university’s remission program, Hopkins employees must withdraw in writing at least five working days before the first class to receive a 100% refund. No 75% refunds are given to JHU employees or affiliates.

Personal Injury

At enrollment, students agree to assume risks and liabilities entailed in any course requirement. The student releases and holds harmless Johns Hopkins University, its trustees, faculties, and administration from any injury sustained through his/her actions or the actions of other students enrolled in the course.

Services for Disabled Students

Johns Hopkins University is committed to providing reasonable and appropriate accommodations to students with disabilities. Students who are in need of accommodations must notify the Odyssey office at odyssey@jhu.edu or call 1-800-JHU-JHU1 (548-5481) at least four weeks prior to the beginning of class.

Library Privileges for Odyssey Students

Borrowing Privileges

Students participating in a class lasting 4 or more weeks may apply for borrowing privileges at the Service Desk on M-level. Students need to present a photo ID and proof of Odyssey course registration. They are issued a JHU Libraries Borrowing card and can check out materials for 4 weeks with 2 renewals or until the date of the last class, whichever is sooner. The Borrowing card also allows students to enter the library during restricted exam hours.

Physical Access

Upon presentation of a photo ID, students may access the library at any time except during restricted exam hours. Dates and hours are posted. Usually, access is granted until 4:00 PM during exams. When in the building, Odyssey students can use the book and most of the online collections. Some online collections are restricted by vendors to specific groups.

Parking, Maps, and Directions

The primary visitor parking area is the South Garage, which is underneath Mason Hall and accessed from Wyman Park Drive (between San Martin and Art Museum Drives).  South Garage is open 24 hours a day and staffed from 8 AM to 6 PM. The exit gates accept paid entry tickets, exit vouchers, and credit cards. The Pay Station is located in the vestibule next to the Parking Office.

  • Evenings after 3:45pm: $9

Off-campus metered parking is also available on Art Museum Drive across from the Baltimore Museum of Art and along Wyman Park Drive.
